Through Shiatsu (also known as Shiatsu massage) I help you reconnect with your body, release emotional and physical tension, and restore your natural balance.

ABOUT ME : JULIA SCHMIDT

I am a certified Zen Shiatsu practitioner with a background in dance, circus, and embodied movement practices.

My approach is rooted in presence, calm, and a deep understanding of the connection between body, mind, and the nervous system.

I trained with Graeme Docherty (Center for Shiatsu) and continue to deepen my practice through ongoing education in Shiatsu, trauma-informed care, and somatic movement disciplines such as Contact Improvisation (CI), Qi Gong, and Body-Mind Centering.

Shiatsu, nature, and movement are the 3 pillars of my work - tools to support the body in regulating, healing, and coming home to itself.

My focus is to create a safe and supportive space where you can connect with yourself, strengthen your inner resources, and be with whatever is present.

WHEN YOU ARE OVERWHELMED, IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO FEEL YOURSELF

My primary focus in my work with people are stress - and trauma related states. These can leave us feeling unsure about ourselves, who we are, whether we are good enough, and where we belong. They can trap us in a negative spiral of thoughts and emotions that can feel almost unbearable. Both can come with significant physical and emotional costs: from pain and tension, anxiety, depression, alienation from one’s own body and reality, low self-confidence and self-esteem, inward-directed anger, to autoimmune reactions, persistent discomfort, and diffuse symptoms without an obvious cause.

Below you will find a selection of the states/symptoms I work with through Shiatsu.

Stress

The ability to sense and regulate the body's signals is an important part of effective stress management.

Trauma

A trauma is an experience we were unable to handle. The body remembers it even when we try to forget.

Highly sensitive
